Monster Under the Couch

One-off workshop
Students imagine a hungry monster living under their couch and write about their first epic encounter with it as a narrative poem. Students will be guided through key aspects of the form and the use of various poetic devices including repetition and simile. Sample Outcomes - Australian Curriculum Create literary texts that explore students’ own experiences and imagining (ACELT1607) Create literary texts by developing storylines, characters and settings (ACELT1794) Create texts that adapt language features and patterns encountered in literary texts, for example characterisation, rhyme, rhythm, mood, music, sound effects and dialogue (ACELT1791)

The Creative Circle is a series of events run by @storyfactorypublishing bringing together experienced artists with early career writers to inspire young creators (aged 15-25).
