I’m Scared of Nothing

I’m Gemma. I’m 8.

I was watching a horror movie. I’m scared of nothing.

It was a dark and spooky night. I heard something outside. Then it was silence. So I continued watching the movie with a little unease.

I saw a shadow from the window. Suddenly I heard footsteps. Just then from the corner of my eye I saw a dark figure slipping through the window. I knew it was a thief breaking in. I was so scared

I went down to the basement to hide. I hid in a cardboard box and held my breath. I heard fast footsteps coming down the basement stairs.  I jumped out of the box and I ran as fast as I could to my room quickly and locked the door. I started panting heavily. I decided to take a big deep breath to calm my nerves. I called out my Mum and Dad but they did not answer. Now I was 100% worried.

I started hearing scratches on my door. It sounded like a monster with big claws. It sounded like it was looking for prey. This was the end. I was getting more and more scared. I didn’t know what to do .

I had to do something. So I started screaming like a maniac.

Then I heard a soft “Miaow.” And more miaows.  It sounded like my neighbor’s cat. I peeped through the keyhole and saw my neighbor’s cat licking herself. I opened the door cautiously with a big sigh of relief and a huge smile. I was thinking then it was nothing . I was scared of nothing. I sat down on the floor and let him crawl into my lap.

I’m Gemma. I’m scared of NOTHING.
