We're hiring a Storyteller-in-Chief for our Parramatta centre

Do you have an endless supply of exciting new ideas for creative writing and storytelling workshops? Do you love working with young people, particularly those from diverse backgrounds? Do you yearn to develop and run large-scale arts projects that nurture young people’s creativity and love of writing?

Do we have the job for you! We’re looking for a Storyteller-in-Chief for Sydney Story Factory Parramatta!

We are looking for an experienced teacher with a passion for words, and for working with marginalised young people. You will oversee all creative writing and storytelling programs run from Story Factory Parramatta, including those delivered in schools and community groups across Greater Western Sydney.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering many of these programs yourself, as well as supporting and developing other teaching staff to deliver them. You will also have opportunities to conceive and execute large-scale arts projects, some running over multiple sites and multiple years, often in collaboration with other arts organisations.

This is a highly creative role that gives you an opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of marginalised young people.

The successful applicant will need a long history of developing young people’s writing skills, a passion for writing, and experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds. In addition, you will be highly organised with the ability to work independently, prioritise, and remain calm and smiling under pressure.
