Oldest Person in History

  • Shalvey Public Laver St Shalvey NSW 2770 Australia (map)

with Shalvey Public

Students will write a collaborative, fictional biography of the oldest living person in history. The students will explore key historical events in the last century and create a character who lived through these events. As part of this process students will be encouraged to include real events and the character's reaction (and perhaps involvement in) the events taking place in the world around them. Each student will have the task of writing a particular section of the character's life, it could be anywhere from life as a toddler in the 1900s through to life as very fit and active one hundred year old in 2001. These workshops provide students with the opportunity to engage with historical events and use them as building blocks for a collaborative story. At the end of the series of workshops we'll join all the individual pieces of writing together to create a massive fictional biography of the oldest person in history.

This is a closed school workshop series.
