Professional Development training for volunteers.
Editing is empowering. It gives writers options - the freedom to adjust their words and to shape their story. This short workshop looks at editing in three stages. We start with structure, focusing on the possibilities of moving text around. Next, we consider ways to enhance young writers' style, followed by some tips on how to present a final draft. People often think of editing as correcting mistakes, but the approach we will take helps writers to look at their stories with new eyes and lifts their confidence. Pamela Hewitt will present this workshop. She specialises in editing short fiction, novels and memoir, and teaches editing in a wide range of settings.
