With Catherine Nash
How do you engage disengaged students? What do you do when you're pulling out your best material, and the student in front of you is yawning or chatting to their friend about Minecraft? What if it's a big group and you have five students to engage, all at the same time? Here's your chance to unpack the reasons students withdraw from learning, and pick up some practical strategies on how to deal with the situation - particularly when your groups are larger than our ideal one or two. This workshop is led by one of our wonderful volunteers Catherine Nash, a Primary trained teacher who morphed into a writing specialist during her time in New York, working with a public charter school network, training and coaching writing teachers.
This is a professional development workshop for Sydney Story Factory Volunteers.
