All workshops are facilitated by our Story Factory Storytellers and provide a safe and supportive space where young people can develop ideas and write. Guided by our expert staff, with support from their fellow writers, young people are empowered to create an extended, exciting piece of writing.
We’re running in-person and online workshops during term on Monday – Thursday for both primary school and high school students.

Puzzling Reflections (Online)

“There is definitely something strange about the mirror in this room. Every time I look into it, a pot plant appears, a painting moves, the wallpaper turns from grey to a dark green. It’s like the reflection I’m seeing is a totally new world. That’s not possible … is it?”
In this free writing workshop series, participants encounter a mirror that acts as a portal to a mysterious alternate universe. They’ll use their imaginations to create this uncanny world, and then write about what happens when they step through to the other side…

In this free writing workshop series, participants will learn how to create compelling characters, story worlds and dramatic situations as they work towards completing a short script for stage or screen.

Story Factory (Sydney, Australia) is partnering with Little Green Pig (Brighton, UK) to deliver a series of free writing workshops aimed at sharing stories and good, old-fashioned mail. Participants will write about themselves, their homes and their lives—prompted by a parcel of tasks and treats from a far-off land.
