Introducing Megafauna Corner for primary school classrooms

Are you a primary school teacher looking for creative writing programs that will stand the test of time? Is your students’ creativity fossilising right before your eyes?
Our Story Factory Digital team has been digging up exciting lessons all about Australia’s fossilised megafauna! We have just launched Megafauna Corner: a three-part series of free educational videos where Jerry, Professor Marcozovich, and Lady Kirst (AKA our Storytellers Jerry, Marcus and Kirsty) travel through time to discover Australia’s megafauna. This creative writing inspires primary-aged students to write about their own imagined animals, helping teachers to save time lesson planning.
This resource pack includes:
- 3x 15 minute live action videos
- 3x worksheet bundles
- 1x teacher’s guide
- Bonus classroom resources to support creative writing
Our resources have been developed by creative writing experts to inspire your primary school class to write and share stories, improve their confidence and literacy and deepen their knowledge and appreciation of our natural environment and ecosystem.
Our suite of free educational videos are coupled with worksheets that will guide students through scaffolded creative writing activities, and a teacher guide to foster professional growth. With suggestions for cross-curricular links, these ready-to-go resources can be taught as a small unit of work or built into your existing program. The resources have been designed with Stage 3 and 4 students in mind, but are also suitable for a multi-stage classroom. They have direct Australian Curriculum syllabus links and suggestions for cross-curricular links.
To celebrate the launch of Megafauna Corner we are giving prize packs to the first 10 teachers who give us feedback on their class’ experience with these resources. Your prize pack could include:

Megafauna Corner is part of Story Factory Digital; our online, nationwide arm, where we deliver creative writing workshops live to classrooms over Zoom, to reach students in regional, rural and remote areas.
