Democracy Day
In November 2025, we brought students from across NSW together at Parliament of NSW for Democracy Day! Arriving from areas spanning Dubbo, Wyong and Vincentia, the Year 7-10 students collaborated on letters they had written to the Secretary of the NSW Government Department of Education or to their local Mayor to influence change in their local communities. The students' letters covered issues which varied from ensuring equality in education for girls, ending racism, having fairer prices at school canteens, and having better nature walks and more parks in their local areas. Dr Marjorie O'Neill MP presented the students with certificates - we are so proud of all of the students who took part in Democracy Day!
We delivered this project in collaboration with The Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law at the University of New South Wales and the NSW Government Department of Education.
