Dome, Sweet Dome

What will your life and community look like in the next 50 years? Year 8 students were tasked to map this out by Story Factory, in collaboration with The Smith Family. The students constructed a radio play by writing and recording poems along with foley sound effects and music.

While peering into their futures, the students were asked: "right now, what are the things that make life worth living?" The result? A poetry radio play about the end of the world that includes domes, zombies and Kendrick Lamar.

Very fittingly, the radio play aired on FBi Radio's All The Best show in September 2025. You can listen back to the radio play on FBi Radio's website: Episode #658 It's the end of the world as we know it

The four day workshop was run by Story Factory, as part of The Smith Family’s SmArts programs, which aim to raise student’s education aspirations and career knowledge of the creative and performing arts sector.
