Alone

By James, Year 9

That lonely boy in the playground all alone

Instead of asking if you’re ok… you laughed at him.

That lonely boy in the playground getting laughed at

Instead of helping… you joined in.

That lonely boy in the playground with no food

Instead of helping you… laughed.

That lonely boy in the playground with no friends…

You humiliated him

That lonely boy in the playground who never caught the bus…

You laughed.

That lonely boy in the playground all alone

Instead of helping… you laughed.

That boy in the playground was sad

Instead of asking if you’re ok… you laughed.

That lonely boy in the playground was scared…

And you laughed.

That lonely boy was me all alone.

That boy in the playground needs a friend.

That boy in the playground needs food. That boy is older now and loud and proud.
