Castles and Frogs

By Jennifer Ibe, High School Student

My superpower is my imagination, but it is sometimes a burden. I sat to do my maths assessment and instead I wrote lines of battle dialogue in the margins and imagined grandiose and deteriorating castles in my head. When we were dissecting frogs in Biology all I could think about was where it had been and where it might have gone. I wondered if, one day, it would have kissed a princess. Or maybe it had no interest in such silly things, and would instead have travelled to every pond in the country. In the world. I imagined it, and in my head it was true.
